Ascent Capital Group · insurance position

I recently came across a job opportunity with Ascent Capital Group for an insurance position that seemed almost too good to be true. The recruitment process was incredibly fast, and before I knew it, I had already paid a total of $460 in onboarding fees, which included $200 for training, $130 for my license, and another $130 because I had to retake the test due to a computer issue. On top of that, I had to pay $60 for fingerprinting and $80 for my application. Now that I’m officially licensed, I have to pay an additional $35 for a continuing education course to get appointed with insurance companies. The job is commission-based, and I have to find my own clients, which is daunting. The commission starts at a low 35%, and promotions depend on recruiting others and accumulating points, which I find confusing. They are also pushing for a $200 registration fee for a convention in Vegas, claiming it will change my life as a financial professional. There are mandatory training sessions every Tuesday and Saturday, and if I miss them, my trainer is constantly checking in on me. I was excited about this opportunity as a stay-at-home mom looking to contribute financially, but now I’m feeling uneasy about the whole situation. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience with Ascent Capital Group or similar companies.
