I left my job in July and took August off to figure out my next steps. In September, I randomly applied to a bunch of jobs on LinkedIn and surprisingly landed an interview. The process dragged on for two months with six rounds via Teams, and I realized I never updated my LinkedIn profile, so they think I'm still employed. During the final in-person interview last week, I mentioned that I left a couple of weeks ago, even though it’s actually been over two months. Now, the hiring manager wants me to come back for another discussion. I'm worried that I might have messed up by not being completely transparent about my employment status. I really want this job, but I'm unsure how to navigate this discrepancy. Should I address it directly or just leave it be?
