I recently had an interview scheduled with my dream company, but I found myself in a tough spot. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I realized that I can't accept a job offer if it comes through, especially since it would require a 2+ year commitment. I genuinely want to work for them in the future, but things have changed since I applied. I’m worried about how to handle this situation without burning bridges. I considered canceling the interview altogether, but I also want to express my gratitude for the opportunity. I’ve read that declining an offer, even before it’s made, could leave a negative impression. I’m torn between wanting to maintain a good relationship with the company and being honest about my current situation.
