I received a layoff email from PayPal today. It seems the company is starting to cut jobs, with notifications going out in Ireland earlier and now in the US as part of a 'business update.' It's disheartening to see the number of layoffs, especially as PayPal has been struggling to keep up with market changes. I've heard that they are among the top companies for layoffs this year, with over 4,700 jobs cut already. It makes me wonder if this is part of the 20 percent reduction they mentioned back in May. The comments I've seen suggest that many people feel PayPal hasn't adapted well to the market, and it's frustrating to see employees bearing the brunt of those decisions. I'm not sure how widespread these layoffs are, but it feels like a tough day for many of us.
