I filed my California unemployment claim on September 27th, just three days before the end of the quarter. I realized afterward that my earnings from April, May, and June were excluded as they fell into the 'lag quarter' category. This resulted in my benefit amount being much lower than I anticipated, as it was calculated using an older, less favorable quarter. Now that it's October, I understand that I could potentially file a new claim that would consider my earnings from that high-earning quarter, where I made three times as much. I'm wondering if there’s a way for me to cancel my initial claim and reapply for the higher benefits, or if I'm stuck with this low payout.
