I recently received a 12-month NICU residency offer from St. David’s (HCA), which is my dream job, but I'm feeling hesitant about accepting it. I’ve heard mixed reviews about HCA's new grad nurse residency programs and I'm looking for insights from others who have gone through it. Specifically, I want to know about the orientation process, how the classes were structured, and what the precepted shifts were like. Did you feel adequately prepared to handle the responsibilities on your own after the orientation? Also, I’ve heard that some people have had to quit their positions—how did that experience go for you? I know they’ve changed the contract terms, so I’m curious about how that might affect my decision.
