I’m a 23-year-old female currently unemployed, and I’ve been feeling increasingly restless at home. I used to enjoy my alone time as an introvert, but now it just feels monotonous and boring. I miss the structure that comes with a job, the sense of being busy and needed. It’s tough seeing everyone else working while I’m stuck at home with not much to do. I try to keep a routine with exercise, reading, and journaling, but it’s not enough to fill the void. I’ve attempted going for walks and spending time at the library, but even those activities feel dull. People often tell me to cherish this time since I won’t get it back once I’m employed, and while I understand that, it doesn’t make being at home any more enjoyable. I think part of the issue is that I still live with my parents, which adds to my feelings of isolation.

I recently went through a frustrating experience with a marketing company that had initially shown a lot of interest in my skills. After a successful interview process, I was welcomed to the team and asked to fill out an orientation form. I attended the orientation meeting, but nobody showed up. They called to apologize and scheduled another meeting, but the same thing happened again. I was really looking forward to starting this new role, and the repeated ghosting has taken a toll on my mental health. I've been trying to stay positive during my job search, but this situation has left me feeling lost and stressed, especially since I need to secure a job for financial reasons. I'm not sure what my next steps should be and would appreciate any advice.
