    Applied to a Job Feeling Planning Thinking

    Four months ago, my organization announced a structured layoff, and while we still have some time before our final dates, I decided to start searching for my next opportunity. I've been actively interviewing and have completed 10 interviews so far, with varying outcomes: 1) Company 1 (Client X) - The interview went terribly. 2) A public accounting firm - I had one round that went well, but I wasn't selected. 3) A sports utility company - I made it to the last round but was ultimately rejected. 4) Company 1 (Client Y) - They liked me, but there are no roles available for a quarter. 5) Company 2 - I was declined after the telephonic round. 6) Company 3 - I reached the last round, but HR ghosted me. 7) Public Accounting Firm 2 - Similar to Company 3, I got to the last round, and then HR ghosted. 8) Company 3 - I'm currently waiting for the promised second round. 9) Company 4 - I completed the first round and am waiting for the results. 10) Company 5 - I also did the first round and am waiting for results. Despite the challenges, I keep pushing myself every day to improve my resume and prepare for the next opportunity. It can be heart-wrenching at times, and I've shed many tears wondering why I don't receive feedback. However, I refuse to let that discourage me. I continue to search for profiles, apply diligently, and study hard, hoping that my efforts will pay off. As a qualified accountant with diverse experience, I never expected this process to be so grueling. I'm holding on to the hope that one day, I'll receive an offer that brings a smile to my face. It's tough, but I keep my head held high, ready to perform my best in the next round.

    Applied to a Job Feeling Thinking

    I've been facing a tough time lately with my job situation. I've been informed that my position is at risk, which has pushed me to start applying for new roles. Over the past four months, I've applied to more than 200 positions and managed to secure just 5 interviews. It's incredibly disheartening because during the interviews, everything seems to go well. The interviewers act as if I'm a perfect fit, but it often feels like they already have someone in mind and are just going through the motions with us. One particularly frustrating experience was a recruitment day where I was given hope after two interviews that stretched beyond the allotted time. In the end, I was told by HR that they decided to go with someone cheaper or with more relevant experience. Reflecting on my career, I realize that I've always taken on challenges and moved around rather than sticking to one role. Now, I can't help but feel that maybe I should have focused on one path instead. It's heartbreaking to think that interviewers might just be using candidates to check off boxes rather than genuinely considering them. I don't usually believe in karma, but I hope that one day those who put us through this will understand the struggles we face.
