I need to vent about my recent job application experience. A few months ago, I applied for a position in my field that I felt I was well-qualified for, given my unique experience. I had a screening interview with HR that went smoothly, and then I had a second interview with the department manager and her assistant. Unfortunately, that one didn’t go as well; the lack of engagement from the assistant threw me off, and I stumbled on some answers. To my surprise, a few weeks later, I was invited for a third interview with the department lead, and it was much more relaxed. I felt we connected well, and I thought I had a good chance. However, after two weeks of silence, I reached out to HR, only to find out they had hired someone else and simply forgot to notify me. That was a blow. There was another opening in the same department, so I applied again, but didn’t hear back. Then, a month later, the same department manager called me to ask if I wanted to do a fourth interview for essentially the same role. I was frustrated but desperate to leave my current job, so I agreed. The fourth interview went much better, and she promised to get back to me by the end of the week. Now, it’s been 10 days, and I still haven’t heard anything. I emailed HR for an update, but they haven’t responded. This is a well-respected healthcare employer, and I can’t understand how they can be this disorganized. Are they messing with me, or is this just how they operate?
