I’m 22 years old and currently living in the UK, and I’ve been struggling with job anxiety for a while now. My childhood was tough, and I’ve been diagnosed with depression and ADHD, which makes everything harder. Recently, I tried working at a warehouse through a job agency, but I couldn’t handle it. The boss was really aggressive, and I was overwhelmed by the heavy lifting and fast pace, so I ended up walking out. I know it wasn’t the best decision, but I just couldn’t take the shouting. After that, I got a job stacking shelves at Tesco. On my first shift, I was so anxious that I couldn’t sleep or eat properly. I thought it was just normal first-day nerves, but the anxiety persisted throughout the week. I struggled with the physical demands of the job, and eventually, I was let go for not meeting their standards. I felt like I had let everyone down, especially my parents and girlfriend. Just yesterday, I had an interview for a kitchen role at a local burger place, but the anxiety about potentially working there is overwhelming. I’m having trouble eating and sleeping again, and I’m really worried about my future. I want to build my life and start working, but my anxiety keeps getting in the way. I’m looking for any advice on how to cope with this situation.
