I recently found myself in a situation where I need to negotiate my severance after being laid off from my role as a C-level executive at a very male-dominated company. My contract guarantees me six months of severance, but I feel that given my contributions and the challenges I've faced in a toxic culture, I deserve more. I'm contemplating whether it's worth pushing for additional compensation despite the contract terms. I know I have some leverage due to my accomplishments, but I'm also aware that the company might not be willing to go beyond what was agreed upon.
