I recently accepted a fantastic job offer, and everything seemed to be on track until I received a call from the background check coordinator. They informed me that my previous employer reported I was terminated for cause, which is completely false. I resigned from my position three months ago, providing a full two-week notice and even completed an exit interview. I have all the documentation to prove it, including my resignation email and the signed exit interview documents. Now, I'm terrified that this misinformation could jeopardize my job offer. I've sent copies of my resignation and acceptance letter to the screening agency, but I can't shake the worry that the new company might rescind the offer due to this drama. I feel like I've done everything right, but I'm anxious about how this will play out.
