I recently had a phone interview for a position that I felt was a perfect fit for me. I've been working at a nonprofit job that is underpaid and lacks growth opportunities, so I've been actively applying for new roles for months. During the interview, I connected well with the recruiter, and we even bonded over tattoos, which made me feel optimistic about the outcome. The recruiter mentioned I would hear back by the end of the day or the following morning regarding next steps, which would involve meeting the chief I would be working under. However, today I received an email stating that there might be an update to the position, and they are pausing interviews for now. While the email didn’t outright cancel the position, it still left me feeling anxious and disappointed. I’m trying to stay hopeful, but it’s tough after putting so much effort into my job search. I would love to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar and had a positive outcome.
