I’ve been exploring opportunities in insurance sales after realizing that my current job, which allows me to work from home with minimal oversight, isn’t going to lead to the income I desire. I’ve sold a variety of products, from meat door-to-door to exotic cars, and while I enjoy the flexibility of remote work, I’m currently earning around $50k. It feels like it will take me another decade to reach the $100k mark, which is frustrating. Recently, I started looking for new roles, particularly in insurance sales. I had a phone interview for a position that seems promising, but I’m hesitant because of a non-compete clause that could lock me in for over two years. I’m also concerned about some other stipulations that feel limiting. I’ve created a wish list for my next role, which includes fully remote work, good training and mentoring, user-friendly technology, fast commission payments, qualified leads, residual commissions, and the potential to earn at least $100k. I’m a hard worker and confident in my sales abilities, especially over the phone once I’m familiar with the product. While insurance sales is what I’m leaning towards, I’m open to suggestions. If anyone has recommendations for insurance companies or types of insurance sales that might be a better fit, I would greatly appreciate your input. I know my wish list is ambitious, but I believe in aiming high.
