I'm 27 years old and feeling really stuck in my job search. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology during the pandemic and then went on to earn a master's in management, completing that in 2024. Since then, I've been without a job and struggling to find opportunities. My only real experience comes from a consulting project I did during my master's program, and I haven't had any work experience from college or high school since I didn't manage to get hired back then. To keep myself busy, I've been volunteering and doing art commissions, but it's not a reliable source of income. I feel like the gap between my graduation and now is becoming a huge barrier. I've even removed my graduation dates and master's degree from my resume, but it hasn't helped. I keep applying to jobs that require various levels of education, including roles that wouldn't even require a degree, but I either get ghosted or rejected every time. It feels like I'm stuck in a loop where I can't get a chance to prove myself because I have 'too much education' and not enough experience. I'm really at a loss for what to do next.
