I work for a well-known multinational corporation, and layoffs have been hitting us hard lately. It feels like anyone could be next, including me. Recently, my closest friend at work was laid off, and I’m really struggling with how to support them from a distance. We’ve been through so much together, from surviving the pandemic to late-night debugging sessions, and now I feel lost and numb. I want to reach out, but I’m unsure how to approach the situation without being intrusive. It’s tough to see someone I care about go through this, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to be there for them during this challenging time.
