I recently applied for a position at IBSS Corp (International Business Sales & Services), a federal government contractor located in Silver Spring, MD. I had a phone screen with a recruiter, and it went really well. Everything about the conversation seemed legitimate, and from my research, the company appears to have a solid reputation. They've been in business for over 30 years, have federal contracts, a good Glassdoor rating, and they're registered on SAM.gov. Additionally, they are a woman-owned small business, which I find appealing. However, I have some reservations because the recruiter mentioned that someone from their security team would contact me to verify my active security clearance, which will require my Social Security Number (SSN) to look me up in the clearance system. While I understand that this is standard procedure, I feel uneasy about providing my full SSN over the phone. I’m trying to be cautious and ensure that I’m not falling for a scam, as I know that scammers can go to great lengths to mimic legitimate companies. I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has experience working for IBSS or has gone through their recruiting process. I’d love to hear about your experiences and what it’s like to work there. Thanks!
