The complexity of the supply chain was immense, and leadership decided to cut the team down to a fifth of its original size, even as the business was growing significantly. An AI agent company took over many of the tasks that these employees were handling, and while some displaced workers found new roles through a service called Freehand, it raises concerns about how AI-driven restructuring might be a trend across the industry.
