Today, I experienced another round of layoffs at HCA, where I work. This marks the second wave of reductions in force (RIFs) targeting American jobs, as the company is moving positions offshore to save costs. It's frustrating to see so much valuable knowledge being lost just to cut expenses. They're not only canceling stateside jobs but also healthcare benefits for their own customers, which is shocking. I can't help but feel that we aren't angry enough about this situation. Just last month, a colleague mentioned that three entire IT teams were replaced with contractors from overseas, and it seems like the trend is only continuing. It's disheartening to witness these changes in a private equity-backed company like HCA.
