I had my second interview for a position on June 7th, and the very next day they initiated my drug test and background check. The recruiter mentioned that they would be in touch within three weeks, which has me feeling anxious. In the meantime, I've received a job offer for a position that I'm not particularly excited about, but it's looking better than having no job at all. I'm really torn about whether to accept this other offer or hold out for the one I interviewed for. I keep wondering if companies typically conduct drug and background checks only to end up not hiring someone. Has anyone experienced this? I want to feel confident that I have the job I interviewed for, but the uncertainty is making me nervous.
