I'm currently working as a bank teller at a small-town bank, but I'm feeling dissatisfied with my pay and overall job satisfaction. Recently, I interviewed for an Account Specialist position at a rent-to-own furniture company, which is conveniently located just three minutes from my apartment and my son's school. They offered me a starting pay that is $1 more per hour than what I currently earn. I'm really torn about this decision. On one hand, the new job is closer to home, offers a slight pay increase, and seems to have more potential for growth. On the other hand, I've heard that working in collections can be quite challenging, and I don't want to leave a stable job only to find myself unhappy in a new role. I live alone with my two kids, so I need to make a decision that will benefit us all. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has experience as an Account Specialist in the rent-to-own industry. I would love to hear about the pros and cons, what you loved and hated about the job, and any advice you might have for someone in my situation. I'm really conflicted about whether that extra dollar an hour is worth the potential stress and challenges of a new role.
