I'm currently at a crossroads in my career and trying to decide whether to stay in my current remote role or take a new opportunity in the city that offers a 12% salary increase. My current organization has been laying off employees consistently, which adds a layer of anxiety about job security. On the other hand, the severance package here is quite generous if I do get laid off. When I do get interviews, many offers don't match my current compensation, and I've unfortunately flunked some interviews for roles that seemed promising.
