I recently left my job and took a 5-month break before diving back into the job market. During this time, I only applied to about 5 jobs directly and registered with a couple of agencies. To my surprise, I started working within a week of registering. I've been reflecting on the idea of being overqualified and whether omitting certain degrees or experiences could help in the application process. I've seen advice suggesting to trim my CV to only include the last 5-10 years of experience and to remove any management roles if they might deter employers. I wonder if others have had similar experiences and if tailoring my CV based on the role I'm applying for could make a difference.
