I'm currently working as a production worker with a schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including a long 1.5-hour lunch break. While the work environment is pleasant and my colleagues are supportive, I find the job to be quite monotonous and, most importantly, it leaves me feeling like I have no free time. I barely have time to run errands, study for university, spend quality time with my girlfriend, or enjoy any of my hobbies. Recently, I received an offer for a position as an electromechanical technician at an automated logistics facility. This new job promises higher pay and potentially more engaging work. However, the catch is that the schedule involves rotating shifts every week between 6 AM–2 PM, 2 PM–10 PM, and 10 PM–6 AM, working five days out of seven. I've never worked shifts before, and I'm concerned about how I might adapt, especially regarding my sleep patterns and personal life. I really want to make a change and develop my skills, but I'm apprehensive about ending up with even less energy and free time than I have now. I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experience with rotating shifts.
