I had a call with a temp agency regarding a potential job opportunity. The agent didn't introduce himself and immediately questioned why I was interested in the position since I lack experience in the field. I explained that I'm currently pursuing a relevant degree and thought it was worth applying, especially since a friend of mine landed a similar role without prior experience. The agent seemed dismissive and mentioned that they don't believe I'm the best fit because the client prefers someone more seasoned. Despite this, they scheduled an interview for next week. I'm feeling uncertain about whether I should even attend, especially since I received no details about the company or the interview logistics. The whole interaction felt somewhat condescending, making me question the value of this opportunity.

I received a call from a temp agency regarding one of the many jobs I applied for. They mentioned that I might not be the best fit because I lack experience in the field, and the client is looking for someone more seasoned. However, they mentioned that I could potentially still get an interview. I found it a bit strange that they would call me if they already felt I wasn't a good match. Since then, I noticed they posted another job that aligns better with my skills, so I plan to tailor my CV for that position. I'm curious if I would be speaking to the same agent if they call me for that job, as I didn't appreciate the tone he used during our conversation. He even questioned why I wanted to work in the field, to which I explained that I'm pursuing a relevant degree. A friend of mine landed a similar job without any experience, so I believe anything is possible. However, I'm unsure if I should even attend the interview if they already know I'm not their preferred candidate and won't provide training. Should I go for it?

I've been applying to jobs in a larger city because it offers more opportunities, and I'm open to moving if necessary. The commute is manageable, but I've faced challenges with last-minute interview requests. For instance, a recruiter recently asked me to come in the very next day, which I couldn't accommodate, and I wasn't able to reschedule at that moment. I'm wondering if there's a polite way to request a reschedule without risking my application being discarded. Should I mention my commuting situation when they reach out to schedule the interview? Ideally, I'd prefer at least a day or two to prepare and plan my route instead of rushing in unprepared.

I recently had an interview with a company where the interviewers made a big deal about how they would notify all candidates within two weeks, even giving me a specific date. They emphasized that they didn't want anyone to feel uncertain about their status and promised to follow through, whether or not they wanted to move forward with me. Well, that date has come and gone, and I haven't heard a thing. It feels like they completely BSed me about their commitment to communication and the company culture they were promoting. I know ghosting is common, but it still stings when they make promises they don't keep. It's frustrating because I was hopeful, and now I'm left feeling disheartened and questioning everything they said.

I received a last-minute call for an interview with a company, but it was scheduled for the very next day. The location was a couple of hours away, and unfortunately, I was feeling unwell. I knew I couldn't make it, nor could I provide a timeline for when I might be able to reschedule due to my illness. I communicated to them that I couldn't prepare or attend the interview under those circumstances. I sensed that they were looking for someone to come in immediately, which made me feel pressured. In hindsight, I wonder if I should have suggested a later date for the interview, even if it meant waiting a week. I'm left questioning if there was a better way to handle the situation or if I should have approached it differently.
