I was collecting unemployment while interviewing with two companies simultaneously. My top choice was taking its time and hadn’t provided an offer yet, so I decided to accept an offer from Company #2, which came with a start date. However, right before I was set to start at Company #2, my preferred employer finally made an offer. I chose to withdraw from Company #2 and accepted the position with my preferred employer instead. Now, I'm unsure if I need to report this to unemployment as 'refusing work' or if it’s just seen as accepting a better job offer. I wasn't trying to avoid work; I simply found a full-time position that was a better fit for me.
