I just received an email indicating that my department will be laying off around 12 members tomorrow. I’ve been following the layoffs happening in the Indian IT sector and never thought I would be in this situation. It's nerve-wracking to think that my name might be on that list. I’m feeling anxious about what to do next. I’m reaching out for advice on a few things: 1. If I find out I'm on the layoff list, what should I ask during the discussion? I really hope I’m not included, but I know it’s out of my hands. 2. What documents or items should I collect before I leave? I’ve heard I need to gather my last six months of pay slips, but I’m unsure what else might be necessary. 3. Any tips or advice for someone like me who is new to the workforce? I’m hoping for the best, but I know I need to prepare for any outcome. Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm facing a tough situation as I've just received notice that my company will be laying off around 12 members from our department tomorrow. It's been a stressful time, especially after reading about the layoffs and hiring freezes in the Indian IT sector. I always hoped I wouldn't find myself in this position, but here I am. I haven't been informed yet if my name will be on the list, and I'm feeling anxious about it. I'm reaching out for advice on what to do if I am included in the layoffs. Specifically, I want to know: 1. What should I ask during the meeting about the layoff process? 2. What documents or items should I collect before leaving? I know I need my last six months of pay slips, but I'm unsure if there's anything else. 3. Any general advice from those who have been through this would be greatly appreciated. I truly hope my name isn't on that list and that my colleagues and I can all keep our jobs. But I understand that sometimes we have to accept what life throws at us. Thanks for any help!
