I was recently laid off from my job, where I had been working as a marketing specialist. I officially received the notice on July 2nd. Prior to this, I had been collaborating with a recruiter for about two weeks to find a new position. They just sent me a list of potential companies that might be a good fit for me. Now, I'm unsure whether I should inform the recruiter about my current unemployment status. I've seen advice suggesting that I should definitely tell them, as it makes me immediately available for new opportunities. Additionally, I plan to apply for unemployment benefits as soon as possible, even though my previous employer is providing severance. I've heard that the process can take a while, so I want to get ahead of it.
