I was laid off about two months ago from my helpdesk position after five years in the role. Thankfully, I've managed to save a decent amount, so financially, I'm okay for now, especially since I live with my family and have no rent to worry about. However, I feel the pressure to find a new job soon to avoid becoming stagnant and draining my savings. I'm contemplating a career pivot away from IT, despite my experience. I hold two entry-level certifications, Network+ and Security+, but it seems like they aren't enough to land a solid position in today’s job market. I'm seeking advice on two main points: 1. Should I aim for slightly more intermediate IT roles with my current qualifications, or should I actively pursue a different career path, like trades or accounting? 2. If I decide to stay in IT, what additional skills or certifications should I consider to bridge the gap between mid-level roles and entry-level positions? I'm based in Florida and would appreciate insights from anyone who has faced a similar situation. Thanks!
