I recently accepted a job offer for a position that I no longer wish to pursue. I verbally accepted the offer and completed the necessary paperwork on Workday, including the prospective hire form, but I haven't started the onboarding process yet. I'm feeling uncertain about how to rescind my acceptance. I know I need to reach out to the company, but I'm unsure of the best way to phrase my message. I want to be respectful and professional, so I'm considering saying something like, "Thank you for your time, but after further consideration, I don’t feel this is a good fit, so I respectfully withdraw from the role." Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?
