I recently applied for five Registration Representative positions at a hospital where I used to work, and I've been rejected each time. I thought I was a strong candidate since my previous role was quite similar, and I felt good about my interviews. However, I'm starting to wonder if I might have been blacklisted by my former employer. To give you some context, my resignation from my last job wasn't exactly smooth. I had a disagreement with my site manager and HR after being denied a promotion I believed I was qualified for. When I voiced my concerns, the regional manager sided with my site manager, which led me to submit my two-week notice. Things got even messier after I left. I was supposed to receive my final paycheck on my last day, but due to my manager being on leave, I didn't get it. When I reached out to HR, they insisted I wasn't owed any penalties and made it seem like I was at fault. It wasn't until I escalated the issue that they agreed to issue my payment. Now, I'm applying to positions at the same hospital that acquired my previous employer in 2015. Given that they have a partnership with my former workplace, I worry that the hiring director might recognize my previous employer's name and have a negative impression of me. Just yesterday, I submitted my fifth application and received a rejection email less than an hour later, which has me questioning whether I'm being auto-filtered out or if my past is catching up with me. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is it really possible to be blacklisted in the healthcare industry, or am I overthinking this?
