I recently landed my first job after graduating college just two months ago, and I’m feeling a wave of imposter syndrome. Initially, I interviewed for an administrative assistant position but didn't get it. However, the interviewer liked my personality and referred me to a hiring manager for another role. We had what I would call a "personality check" interview, which went well, leading to a second in-person interview that felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview. They asked when I could start, which was a huge relief, but now I’m feeling overwhelmed. I’ll be starting in freight importing, a field I have no prior knowledge in, and I’m anxious about whether I’ll be able to learn everything I need to know. I know I can learn, but the uncertainty is nerve-wracking. I really like the company and the people there, and I want to do well. I’m reaching out for advice from anyone who has started a job in a completely new field. How did you cope with similar feelings? What helped you settle your nerves and find your footing?
