  1. 1

I graduated in December last year with two bachelor's degrees in Finance and Business Law from a well-known state school, finishing Summa Cum Laude. However, it's been 11 months since I started my job search, and finding an entry-level analyst or credit position has proven to be nearly impossible. I've been actively applying on LinkedIn, company websites, and networking, but despite several interviews that I felt went well, I've faced rejection after rejection. Most of the roles I applied for ended up being filled by candidates with 5-15 years of experience, even though they were labeled as entry-level. Some companies even closed positions after realizing their AI models could handle the tasks better than anticipated, while others implemented hiring freezes. In an effort to get my foot in the door, I've started applying for positions with minimal requirements, like teller roles, but I often receive automated rejection emails or no responses at all. Feeling frustrated, I decided to pivot my focus towards the legal field and applied for paralegal and document review positions, which only required a high school diploma or GED. Yet, I haven't heard back from any of those applications either. I've sought feedback on my resume from professionals and recruiters, trying to identify any potential issues, but I'm still at a loss. I have some work experience outside of finance and law that provided me with transferable skills, but it doesn't seem to be enough. I'm beginning to regret my decision to pursue higher education and wonder if I should have opted for trade school instead. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has successfully landed a corporate job in the financial or legal sectors in this challenging job market, or if anyone has advice on how to navigate this situation.
