Today, I faced a bit of a dilemma regarding my unemployment application. I recently rejected two job offers before I even applied for unemployment, and I'm concerned about how that might affect my eligibility. One offer was from a company in a different state, and I couldn't find affordable housing that would allow me to commute. The other was supposed to include employee housing, but after two months of trying to get in touch with them, I received no response at all, not even after I rejected the offer. When I filled out my unemployment application, I mistakenly indicated that I hadn’t rejected any offers. I realized that unemployment benefits can be retroactive, so I plan to call them first thing tomorrow to correct that mistake. I hope it can be fixed since I filled it out right after they closed for the day. I’m really anxious about whether my reasons for rejecting the jobs will be considered valid, especially since I was relying on their housing offers. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything right. I think I might not have filed the wrong answer after all, as I backed out to clarify another question, but I’m still worried about the implications of rejecting those offers.
