    Applied to a Job Feeling Miscellaneous

    I was laid off from my position two weeks ago and my manager assured me that I would receive an extra week of pay to help me transition. I was expecting this payment last Thursday, but it never came through. Since Friday was a holiday, I gave it until today, but still nothing. I reached out via text this morning but haven't heard back yet. I've also applied for unemployment benefits, but that process isn't finalized, and I haven't received any payments yet. I'm starting to wonder if my manager is holding back the promised pay because I applied for unemployment. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

    Feeling Miscellaneous Planning

    I got laid off about two weeks ago from my job where I had been working for almost a year. My boss told me that I didn’t meet their expectations anymore, which was disappointing to hear. On my last day, they promised me an extra week of pay, and I was thankful for that as it would help me cover my bills while I searched for a new job. However, when payday came, I didn’t receive any payment. I waited until after Juneteenth to reach out, but I still haven’t heard back from my former employer. I also applied for unemployment, which might be affecting their response, but I’m not sure. I’m really struggling now and worried I won’t be able to pay my car or other bills this month. I could use some advice on what to do next.
