I was laid off from my part-time job in Texas after just under four months of employment, from March 23, 2026, to July 12, 2026, due to a lack of work. When I tried to apply for unemployment benefits, I was denied because I didn't meet the income requirements during the base period from April 2025 to March 2026. I spoke with a benefits representative who asked for proof of my wages, which I provided, but they never mentioned the base period issue. Now I’m in a tough spot since I don’t have a full year of wages from this job. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to call again and see if I can get the wages reconsidered or if I should just accept that there’s nothing I can do. I’m really stressed out because that job was my only source of income.
