I interviewed for my dream job three weeks ago and was really hopeful, but I didn’t get called back for a second interview. Today, I found out that a co-worker I don’t know well was called for a second interview and turned it down! It’s frustrating because I would have loved that opportunity, and she didn’t even want it. On a different note, I had an interview on Monday that I thought went terribly. To my surprise, they offered me the job yesterday! I felt so guilty having to turn it down, especially since the hiring manager was so excited to extend the offer. I’m still searching for my dream job and hoping to find it soon.

I applied for my dream job on May 28th and got a call on June 9th to schedule an interview, which took place on June 12th. The interview involved three staff members and the current role holder, who is retiring. I felt confident during the interview as the questions were mostly aligned with my experience, except for one, but I managed to address it with related knowledge. They mentioned that one of the main job duties is my ideal position, which got me even more excited. I asked some good questions, including confirming that it was a 12-month position since it’s in a school setting. I was told they were looking to schedule one more initial interview virtually and then proceed to performance-based interviews, aiming to hire by mid-July. However, with the recent graduation events and the office being closed for Juneteenth, I haven’t heard anything back. I was on PTO during this time, so I knew communication might be slow, but I'm starting to wonder if I've been ghosted or if there's still a chance for a second interview.
