Applied at XYZ Corporation for marketing coordinator

I recently reached out to my former boss at XYZ Corporation, where I worked as a marketing coordinator, to ask for a reference for a new job opportunity. It's been over a week, and I haven't received any response. I'm feeling a bit anxious about it, as I really need this reference to move forward in my job search. I thought we had a good relationship, so being ghosted like this is unexpected and frustrating. I'm considering following up again, but I'm not sure if that would be appropriate or if I should just let it go.
