I’m Tori, 28 years old, currently working at Taco Bell making $13/hr while pursuing my bachelor's degree in education online. My goal is to complete my degree in 2.5 years so I can get my certification and start teaching. However, I work overnight shifts from around 6-7 PM to 3:30-4 AM, and honestly, I’m struggling with these hours. I used to handle it well when I was younger, but now with a two-year-old son, it's taking a toll on me both physically and mentally. I’m actively job searching to get into a school district here in East Texas, but it’s proving to be more challenging than I expected. I want a position that’s more stable than substituting, and without prior experience, I’m not sure I can land a para role, although I’ve applied anyway. I’m reaching out for advice on how to break into a job or company that offers regular hours and isn’t in food service. I feel burnt out from fast food and really need a better schedule for both my well-being and my son's. If anyone has tips on getting responses from school districts or other avenues I should explore, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you!
