Today, I experienced a significant shift in my career as my company announced mass layoffs. I was working as a marketing specialist at a mid-sized tech firm, and the news hit hard. The atmosphere was tense as management called an all-hands meeting to deliver the unfortunate updates. I was one of the many affected, and it feels surreal to be part of such a large group facing sudden job loss. I'm now in the process of updating my resume and reaching out to my network to explore new opportunities. It's daunting, but I'm determined to find my next role.

Today, I witnessed significant layoffs at my workplace, which has left me feeling uncertain about my future here. The company let go of several supervisors, managers, and members of the marketing team, and many of my higher-ups are also leaving. Production in my department has slowed down, which adds to my anxiety about potential layoffs by the end of the year. I’ve been advised by colleagues to treat every day as if it could be my last and to start saving money and updating my resume. I’ve seen how quickly things can change; a division head was laid off recently, and my manager 'retired' shortly after. Now, it feels like it's just us worker bees left without any representation in executive meetings. I’m starting to realize that if I don’t have a seat at the table, I might end up on the chopping block, so I need to start looking for new opportunities.
