I'm a certified EKG Technician, but I'm struggling to get my foot in the door even at entry-level positions in doctors' offices. It feels frustrating because I currently work a private job in a gimmicky "Animal Control" role, which I don't even list on my resume. I just want to get some responses, even if it's just rejections. I've considered applying to larger hospitals or clinics, especially those with telemetry, step down, or ICU floors where EKG technicians are needed. However, I've heard the requirements can vary significantly by state, which makes it even more challenging. I'm also wondering if I need to highlight any other healthcare experience I might have to improve my chances.
