I recently found out that "Amazing Office," where I completed an 8-week postgraduate practicum, is hiring for a position that aligns perfectly with my skills in patient care and teaching undergraduate healthcare students. I’m currently working in healthcare and also teach part-time at my alma mater. The job application requires 3 references, and I'm trying to decide who to ask among my 5 supervisors. I definitely plan to ask one of my supervisors from my practicum at "Amazing Office" since we worked well together and have kept in touch. I’m considering whether to ask the second supervisor from the same office as my second reference. My concern is that they might provide similar information, which could be redundant for the recruiter. For my third reference, I’m torn between my teaching supervisor, who has known my work for 8 years and recently wrote me a reference letter, my former supervisor from a different patient care role who has encouraged me to apply for jobs like this, and my research supervisor who has relevant experience and connections at the hiring institution. I’m worried about overwhelming my references since the first two have already written for me multiple times. I’d love to hear thoughts on whether to include both supervisors from "Amazing Office" and who among the remaining supervisors would be the best choice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
