I recently applied for a job that I thought would be a great fit for me. I was excited when I received a call just two days later expressing interest in my resume and wanting to set up an interview. Unfortunately, I missed the call by a couple of hours because I was at work. I listened to the voicemail, and the recruiter sounded genuinely impressed with my background, which gave me hope. After missing the call, I promptly returned it but got no answer, so I left a voicemail. I waited about four days and called again, but still no response. This morning, I woke up to an email stating they had decided to move forward with other candidates. I can't help but feel frustrated and confused. Was it because I missed the initial call? I don’t understand how they could make a decision so quickly. It feels like I did something wrong, but I’m not sure what it was. It’s disheartening, especially since I’m not particularly happy in my current job and feel like I lack transferable skills. Driving a non-CDL truck limits my options, and I thought this opportunity could have been a turning point for me.
