  1. 1

I currently work at a summer campground where my role involves a lot of physical activity, including sitting, squatting, walking, carrying wood bundles, and shoveling ashes from fire pits. However, I've been experiencing severe knee pain that prevents me from bending or putting weight on my leg. Given that it's mid-July, the peak of the summer season, I realize that continuing in this role could worsen my condition, as I faced a similar issue a year and a half ago that required a month off and physical therapy to recover. Considering the small staff and the physical demands of my job, I've decided it might be best to quit for the summer rather than take time off and risk extending my recovery. I feel incredibly embarrassed about this situation, but I think it would be even more humiliating to delay my return further. I also have an important event coming up in less than a month, and I want to ensure I can participate without limitations. I'm planning to see a doctor tomorrow to get a note for my full-time job, but I'm unsure how to approach my campground boss about my decision to quit. I'm supposed to return in just two days, and I need advice on how to communicate my situation effectively.
