I've been reflecting on the future of work at my company, where I've been for the past few years. We’ve been heavily discussing AI lately, especially since its implementation about six months ago. It's been alarming to see how quickly it's starting to replace many of the tasks we used to handle, particularly the report generation and Excel work that fills our days. My team has started to voice concerns to our manager about what happens when AI takes over all our roles, but he seems just as uncertain as we are. With a master's degree and various Excel certifications, I feel like my qualifications are becoming obsolete as companies increasingly rely on AI for tasks that once required human input. It's disheartening to think that in just a few years, most non-physical jobs might be automated, leaving many of us in a precarious position. I can't help but wonder what the workforce will look like in 5 to 10 years. Will there still be a place for people like me, or will we all be replaced by machines? The uncertainty is quite unsettling.
