I recently applied for a full-time role at the nonprofit where I'm currently interning. As a volunteer intern, I receive a stipend, and I've really enjoyed my time here. However, I just accepted another full-time job offer, which means I would have to end my internship earlier than the planned six months. I brought this up with my supervisor, and since it's a volunteer position, they were understanding. Now, I see that there's an opening for a full-time position on another team within the same organization, and I decided to apply because I truly want to stay with the company. I'm a bit concerned about whether this is against hiring ethics, especially since I already accepted another job offer. From what I've read, internal applications are common, especially in nonprofits, and they often prefer candidates who are already familiar with the organization. I just need to be mindful that if I get this position, I would have to back out of the other job, which could potentially damage that relationship. I'm trying to navigate this situation carefully.
