Today, I found out that I need to complete a Job Offer Appeal for a position I was excited about. I was offered the job, but now they want me to prove I'm qualified. They claim that my part-time experience doesn't count fully, even though I have four years in the same role title and a bachelor's degree, while the job only requires a high school diploma. It feels frustrating and a bit dehumanizing to have to justify my qualifications for a role that pays under $20 an hour and offers only discounted insurance. Despite this, I'm grateful for the opportunity, especially since it's a stable public sector job.
