I recently faced a challenging situation as a Product Manager while job searching. As someone with epilepsy, I find the interview process particularly daunting. It’s frustrating that recruiters often overlook the unique challenges we face. I've struggled with fumbling my words and sometimes forgetting what I've learned during interviews. The gaps in my career due to my condition make it even harder to present myself confidently. I've reached a point where I hesitate to disclose my epilepsy, fearing it will bias recruiters against me. It's disheartening to feel like I have to hide a part of myself in order to be considered for a role.
