I have an interview tomorrow for a new job, and I'm feeling uncertain about whether I would accept an offer if it comes through. Currently, I work for a city job where I earn $29.88/hr on the second shift. They start at $38.25/hr, which is a significant increase, but I would only get two weeks of vacation initially and would have to pay for insurance (around $70 or $80 per paycheck). The drive is just eight minutes longer, but the shift is third, which my family isn't thrilled about. The schedule is set for Monday to Thursday, which is a plus, and they offer a 401k match with a 3% yearly raise. I'm considering negotiating for more vacation time if I get the offer, given my experience. I'm torn between the stability and benefits of my current job and the potential for better pay and a more structured schedule at the new one.
