I've been in the plumbing industry for 17 years, working primarily in commercial and industrial settings. Throughout my career, I've held various titles including apprentice, certified journeyman plumber, master plumber, crew foreman, and foreman. Despite my extensive experience and numerous certifications, I find myself getting fired from almost every job I take. It's a strange pattern — I tend to be one of the first employees on-site, yet I often get let go during layoffs or when companies start downsizing. The reason given for my terminations is always the same: "We aren't a good fit for each other." This has happened so frequently that it’s become a source of anxiety and depression for me. I have no write-ups, no tardiness, and I’ve never missed a day of work. My performance has never been questioned, and I readily accept tasks outside of my designated responsibilities. I understand that this vague feedback might indicate something else, but without any concrete reasons, I’m left feeling confused and frustrated. I've received promotions and hold many certifications, yet I still find myself on the chopping block. It's disheartening to be the common denominator in so many job losses. I’m starting to wonder if there's something about my interpersonal skills or personality that I need to address, but I’m not sure where to start.
